Rebond (Bonded Urethane): This is the most popular type of carpet padding sold today. It is made from reclaimed scrap of high-density urethane foam used in furniture and automotive manufacturing, which is bonded together to form carpet cushion. Rebond comes in various thickness and densities. Some come with a moisture barrier and antimicrobial additives.

Frothed Foam: MFCB (Mechanically Frothed/Chemically Blown) pad is the premier carpet pad on the market. This pad will not flaten out and is ideal for heavy traffic areas. This pad is also approved for radiant floor heating. This pad also is a "green" product, Virtually has no VOC's (meets CRI green label plus) and uses natural oil chemicals. The MFCB pad we carry is called Triple Touch by Shaw. It features a moisture barrier on top so no spills soak into your pad.

Felt: Fiber cushion uses existing fibers (both virgin and recycled, and either natural or man-made fibers), which are interlocked into a useful sheet of felt. This pad resists mold & mildew, therefore it is recommended for use over concrete. There are two distinct varieties of fiber cushion:
Natural fibers include felt, animal hair, and jute (the material used to make some kinds of rope and heavy burlap bags). This is one of the oldest types of carpet cushion, dating back to the earliest days of machine-made carpet.
Synthetic fibers include nylon, polyester, polypropylene, and acrylics, which are needle-punched into relatively dense cushions which have a firm feel and, as with other types of cushion, can be made in virtually any weight, to stand up under light, medium, or heavy traffic, which is how they are usually classified.
